Ministry Description: My approach to spiritual direction involves honoring the sacred stories of those I accompany as they explore and discover more fully God’s presence within themselves and the sacred in all of life. I meet with people of all ages and faith experiences.
Being a member of the leadership team in the Jubilee Program of Soulful Living and Spiritual Direction continues to inspire me on my own journey. I have co-facilitated a pastors’ seminar series on the topic of “Practising Congregational Ministry from a Spiritual Guidance Stance.” As a long distance runner, I enjoy offering a Running and Spirituality Series each spring, where we explore the connection between running and spirituality, as well as healthy running and spiritual practices. Background: I received my training in spiritual direction through the Ontario Jubilee Program of Spiritual Direction and have been accompanying individuals since 2012. I am a member of Spiritual Directors International. I have been actively involved in church life over the years, especially in the area of pastoral care. From 2012 – 2018, I served on the Ministry Team of my congregation as a lay minister with a focus on pastoral care. From 2013 – 2016, I was a member of Listening Ministries at Five Oaks Retreat Centre offering spiritual direction to retreat participants. For 30 years, I worked as a secondary and elementary school teacher in the area of special education and teaching regular classes. Since 2014 I have been a member of the Jubilee Leadership Team. My spiritual journey has also been enriched by being a husband, father and grandfather. |
